After Care for Permanent Make Up

Each client's skin responds differently, both in the length of time it takes to heal, and the number of sessions needed for your desired results and colour retention. This information acts as a guideline only, and we cannot guarantee your results. The results and longevity of your tattoo will depend greatly on how you take care of your skin before and during the healing process and beyond.

  • Microblading/Microblading + Shading

    After your treatment...

Please take a break from any exfoliating anti-ageing/ anti-acne products (retinoids, glycolic, vitamin c, AHA/ BHA, enzyme washes, serums, etc) near and around your brow area for 2 weeks after your treatment to allow healing.

Any treatments such as lasers, peels, waxing, botox, tinting, etc should also take place 2 weeks prior or 2 weeks after your appt.

Brows should be DRY HEALED for the next 10 - 14 days:

    • Do not get them wet
    • No sweat or moisture
    • No sun exposure/Sunbeds
    • No exercising
    • No picking or scratching
    • No makeup
    • No swimming/sauna

BLOT with tissue paper daily to keep brows free from natural oils.

    Day 1

After 1 hour, wipe your brows with green soap & distilled water, then dab them dry with tissue paper, then apply a thin layer of Balm provided.

Repeat this 5-6 times throughout the day leaving your last one until before bed time.

    Day 2-4

Repeat the same cleaning steps but only repeat once in the morning, lunchtime and before bed.

    3 x in total.

    Day 5-10/14

Repeat the same as day 2 and apply skin candy morning and night. For oily skin types just apply skin candy once in the morning.

    What to expect

Brows may have minor swelling and maybe reddish and / or darker in colour for the first week - this is temporary and normal.

Some itching is normal. Do not pick, peel or rub your enhancement as colour may heal unevenly. Allow the colour to flake away by itself.

Sometimes, the tattoo will appear lighter after the dead skin comes off and the colour will bloom back to the surface later on.

Final results from each session will appear clearly after about 4 weeks, then it will be time for your follow up!

What to expect at the second follow up session?

I will assess your results and your skin's reaction to the process, tweak and adjust anything that's needed (e.g. lighter spots) and make sure the colour, texture and shape look amazing overall!

You will be required to repeat the same before and aftercare for the second session.

  • Eyeliner

    Before and during your treatment...

Please take a month long break from any exfoliating anti ageing/ anti acne products (retinoids, glycolic, vitamin c, AHA/ BHA, enzyme washes, serums, etc).

Any treatments such as lasers, peels, botox, tinting, perming should also take place 2 weeks prior or 2 weeks after your appt.

Eyeliner should be DRY HEALED for the next 7-10 days:

    • Do not get them wet
    • No sweat or moisture
    • No sun exposure/Sunbeds
    • No exercising
    • No picking or scratching
    • No makeup
    • No swimming/sauna

Don’t get eyelash extensions or put fake lashes until your eyeliner is fully healed (5-14 days).

    Day 1-2

After 1 hour, wipe with antiseptic wipes, then dab them dry with tissue paper. Repeat this every 1-2 hours throughout the day leaving your last one before bed time, and apply a very thin layer of the Balm provided during the night.

    Day 3-7

Repeat the same cleaning with green soap & distilled water steps but only repeat once in the morning and once before bed - apply a very thin layer of the Balm provided during the night.

    What to expect

Some puffiness is normal for immediately after treatment and the following couple of days. Unless one has extremely sensitive eyes and they experience more than the usual puffiness or redness in which case 2-3 days of downtime maybe needed.

Repeat the same before and aftercare for the second follow up session.

  • Lip Blush

    After your treatment...

Refrain from soaking your lips in water for a week and from applying makeup to them.

Make sure to brush your teeth with your mouth wide-open trying to avoid touching the paste and water.

Eat carefully also trying to not touch or smudge your lips, it might affect healed results.

Alcohol, hot and colourful drinks are only allowed to be consumed through a straw.

Refrain from using saunas and swimming pools, sweating excessively and sunbathing as your lips may loose the colour or get hyperpigmented from sun exposure, especially if you naturally have more of dark melanin in your skin.

Do not peel any dry skin/ scabs.

Keep the lips moisturised all the time with Balm ointment provided only (no vaseline, antibiotic creams, neosporene, etc.)

    Day 1

After the treatment gently cleanse your lip with antiseptic wipes without stretching the skin every hour. This ensures the excess lymph is removed in order to prevent formation of scabs.

No super spicy food during the first 24 hours.

    Day 2-3

Gently cleanse your lip with distilled water lightly dampened cotton pads without stretching the skin every 2-3 hours.

    Day 4-5

Gently cleanse your lip with lightly dampened cotton pads without stretching the skin every morning. After the skin is clean and dry you can apply a very thin layer of the Balm provided during the night.

    What to expect

Day 1: Your skin will start slowly releasing lymph fluid right after your procedure. This is a common healing process for our bodies! 30 minutes after your appointment and throughout the first day from the procedure, keep wiping your lips with antiseptic wipes provided or cotton rounds and lukewarm water to minimise scabbing. Keep applying the ointment. The colour will look the most vibrant on the first day.

Day 2: The lips may still be a little swollen. Make sure you keep them moisturised.

Day 3-7: Keep moisturising with Balm as needed. Some light flaking or peeling may occur - this is normal. Do not pick any dry skin.

After a few weeks: you will notice the actual healed results from your session.

After Care for Eyelash Extension

First 24 hours:

  • No rubbing, touching, combing eyelashes, as well as wiping eyes with a towel.
  • Do not get eyelashes near water, steam, heat (hot shower, sauna, swimming pool), etc.
  • Carefully apply cosmetics to avoid the eye area (e.g. eye cream needs to be applied about 20-30 minutes before bedtime in order to be absorbed).

After 24 hours avoid:

  • You have to be careful when removing make-up, avoid using cotton balls, cotton wool or other fibrous materials around eyelashes.
  • Use caution when using oily eye contour cosmetics, including eye creams, Vaseline, serum, oily oils and milk, as they may dissolve the adhesive bond.
  • Using waterproof cosmetics in the eyelash area, including mascara and eyeliner.
  • It is recommended to use water-based cosmetics in the eye area.
  • Excessive rubbing and touching eyelashes.
  • Limit visits to the sauna, steam rooms and solarium - too frequent exposure of eyelashes to sudden changes in temperature may weaken glue bonding.
  • Extended eyelashes do not require painting.
  • For extended lashes, do not have a lash lift/permanent treatment and do not use an eyelash curler, as it may break artificial lashes.
  • Eyelashes can be removed only in the salon, using a special preparation by a qualified person.
  • If necessary, brush your eyelashes with a dry brush in order to arrange them evenly and nicely.

VERY IMPORTANT:

For hygiene purposes - artificial eyelashes have to be washed in order to get rid of all the make-up, cosmetics and dust residues.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is Permanent Makeup?

Permanent Make Up is safe cosmetic application where high grade pigments are implanted into the dermal layer of the skin. There are many benefits of permanent makeup, therefore the interest in the procedure has been steadily increasing for both women and men.

The fact is simple: permanent cosmetics is a fast and effective way to improve the way you look. It’s not about changing your look but rather, enhancing your natural features. Cosmetic tattoo is a way to save time and make your life easier. Wake up every morning with perfect make up. Go for a swim, to the gym, have a run, play tennis, shower or perspire, your make up won’t smudge or run off.

  • How long does each procedure take?

The initial procedure will generally take approximately 2.5 to 4 hours. This includes creating records, taking photographs, and discussing desired design and colour as wel as the procedure and discussing aftercare requirements.

Follow up appointments usually do not require the same amount of time.

  • What can I expect at my PMU and Microblading appointment?

A typical PMU & Microblading appointment lasts up to 2.5 to 4 hours, depending on the procedure.

A retouching appointment lasts from 1-2 hours, depending on the amount of work that needs to be retouched.

A standard visit consists of the following steps:

    1. Firstly, I will assess your lifestyle and expectations for your brows, lips or eyes. Do you want something bold or natural? Is the makeup for everyday or just for special occasions? What face shape do you have? Do you keep the same hair colour or do you change the colour of your hair? This interview will help create the best eyebrows, lip blush, eyeliner for my clients. "Before" photos will be taken of the brows/lips/eyes area.
    2. Then, I will draw the shape of brows/lips/eyes directly on your face with a pencil. This also allows you to see the final look before any permanent work is done. Nothing is done until you love and approve the design 100%!!!
    3. PMU Lips Blush/Eyeliner/Microblading Brows application is done based on the design drawing that was agreed with you.
    4. Sessions for you are booked with time in between. All my clients are treated individually because I believe that perfect quality service is the key to the whole procedure.
    5. The final stage is photography and aftercare: I will take "after" photos of your treatment, provide you with a care kit and discuss care instructions with you. Don't worry, you'll also have a written copy of the instructions, so if you're not sure you've kept all the information discussed because you're too busy obsessing about how much you LOVE your new eyebrows/lips/eyes, you have a written backup to refer to if you need to!
  • Dose it hurt?

Generally, no. Each person has a pain threshold, but consistent application of anesthetic typically keeps clients very comfortable. If you do not respond to numbing agents, there can be some discomfort.

  • Do I need a touch up?

Touch ups are highly recommended with a follow up appointment. Due to the uniqueness of each individual and the superficial nature of the tattoo itself, touch ups provide an opportunity to assess how your skin responds to the initial procedure.

Touch ups provide an opportunity to make any adjustments necessary while also lengthening the longevity of your permanent makeup.

These sessions are not included in the initial price and need to be booked between 6-12 weeks from the time of your first session. This appointment will be scheduled on the day of your first appointment.

  • How long does it last?

Although each body heals differently, depending on lifestyle (sun exposure, ageing, skin condition, lip filler, skin care regimen, etc.) cosmetic tattoo services can last 1-3 years once healed.

Clients should come back regularly for colour boosts to freshen up the colour and keep it looking as good as new.

  • How do I proceed if I have previous work done by another artist?

Previous work can be tricky. The current state of your tattoo, and understanding your expectations will help your artist offer advice and help achieve the desired result.

All coverups must be pre-approved before booking. Please send a photo in natural light via the contact page on this website.
